Muslim Ingratitude

While Bush behaves like a perfect gentleman, he is cast as a living Satan. This man has more patience than Job. The press reports the "facts." The liberals join the radical Islamists in their propaganda. Even Bush supporters seem intimidated by all the negativity. There remain only a few lonely voices standing up for truth.

Anti-Bush protests hit Indonesia - CNN.com: JAKARTA, Indonesia (AP)
Thousands wound through the streets of Indonesia's capital and gathered at mosques Sunday to protest U.S. President George W. Bush's visit to the world's most populous Muslim nation, some chanting "War criminal" and "You are a terrorist!" Bush's arrival Monday comes amid mounting anger over U.S. policy in the Middle East and the invasions of Iraq and Afghanistan -- seen by many here as attacks on Muslims.

To the Muslims and Americans that hate America, George W. Bush expelled a terrorist organization in Afghanistan, and a tyrant in Iraq. He did these things to protect America and to help Muslims. The dual purpose was to defeat terrorists who were killing civilians, and to enable Muslims in this area to have freedom under governments and systems they choose. Muslims, and leftists, should thank President Bush and the Americans who died for them in this noble endeavor to bring peace and freedom to the world.

Maligning the Just

To Americans who don't understand why "the world" hates us, and why half of our country seems to join "the world" in this, this is one of those times in history when goodness is rewarded with hatred. Why do human beings do this? I don't know. Why were many of the saints killed or persecuted? I don't know. Why was Copernicus persecuted for saying the earth revolves around the sun? I don't know.

What I do know is that victory has a thousand fathers, but defeat is an orphan. Lies will travel around the world twice before the truth has a chance to put on its pants.

Iraq, Bush, Oil and Muslims

Iraq is perceived as a mess, now even by the military leaders. So, people look for someone to blame. Fine, blame Bush. I join you in saying that it was an ill-conceived war. On the other hand, it was always worth the try, and it was always the right thing to do. The world, and liberals, are so wrong in perpetrating the myths that the war was waged for oil, and that the war is against Muslims.

The U.S. has not profited from this war. In fact, it has now spent more treasure on it than in Vietnam. If Bush did it for oil, why hasn't he seized the oil fields to pay for the war? It just doesn't make sense to make this accusation.

It is also obvious that this is not a war against Muslims. In fact, it is the opposite. Bush has freed two Muslim countries from tyrants. He wants to create a free Iraq. Why can't he do it? In my opinion, it is because the people of Iraq are not willing to fight for their own lives and freedom. They are grown so used to being subjugated by a strongman, and so filled with sectarian hatreds, that they can't envision anything better. Is this Bush's fault?

The One Product of Radical Islam

The only product that Middle-Eastern radical Muslims create in the world is hatred. Hatred for everything good. Ingratitude for help. With all the wealth in that area there should be a flowering of Islam. Where is it? Tiny Israel is stopping the Middle Eastern Islamic states from becoming great countries? The U.S. is preventing these Islamic nations from flowering? No. These countries teach their children hate and nothing else. They will become great again when they stop demonizing Jews and Americans and start loving their children, and teaching them to be doctors, and artists, and scientists. They've got the wealth. Let them use it for the good of the world instead of for bombing babies.

Speak Out

For good Americans, the people that love this country, it is important that you join together to condemn the misinformation and bullying that we are experiencing. Just simply speak the truth. You don't have to defend Bush for things you think he has blundered, but it is vital that you defend him for his goodwill. He is a good man, and you ought to be proud to say it. Iraq and Afghanistan are noble endeavors, if ill-conceived and unfinished.

Although protest is fair game, we are free also so say how we feel. I feel that these anti-Bush protests shame the protesters more than they shame Bush. Shame on them for their ingratitude. Shame on them for wasting the lives of their people with irrational hatreds and scapegoating.

OJ Book and Show Cancelled!

Sometimes human nature surprises me. All of you people who pressured Fox and Judith Regan to cancel the book and show succeeded, whereas I was one of the morbidly curious. Again, you are better human beings than I, and I salute you for getting this thing quashed. The good guys and girls won one. Thank you all.

Hello Mr Rock, I feel like I am becoming a little rude in the last few days as I rush straight into a counter attack of my beliefs. I feel Like I barely get time to say hi before I have to defend my last statements from misrepresentation and slander. I guess I should always make time for common courtesy as I am a decent person.

Now how about this for a storm in a tea cup. 1000 people protest against Bush in indonesia. So What? there are 250million people in Indonesia. Millions of people around the world protested just before the Iraq invasion, that is the voice to be heard. This voice coming from Indonesia is only going to be ignored anyway.

Also, Bush does not automatically deserve respect, he must earn it. If he is going to invade muslim countries, then he must at the bear minimum improve the conditions that were found in the country. All that has been achieved in afghanistan is a so called terrorist organisation has been replaced by war lords who are equally as vicious to their people. The onus is on you Mr Rock to prove me wrong with evidence, to simply say I have been reading the wrong stuff is not enough.

Now I dont know much about the U.S economy, but given that you make all your arms, vehicles and planes for your defence force, then having a war creates employment. having wars means that young people can join the army instead of queing at the dole office which effects unemployment rates. Heres a fact, the only Iraqi Ministry left standing after the invasion was the ministry for oil, the others were blown to bits. Many of the bombings that are occuring in Iraq are not in market places (these are the ones that make the news), they are the ones on the pipelines that are disrupting the flow of oil (cos not all terrorists are dumb and they know how to hurt their occupiers).

Finnally Mr Rock, I completely agree with you when you say how bad radical islam is for the world. You will find it very hard to find 'liberals' and 'leftists' who wont agree with you. But, they will argue that Radical christianity is just as bad for the world. Christian extremists with too much political influence are just as dangerous. I guess its like they say, all things in moderation.

Hey Rock..

I'm not going to argue a lot, cause honestly it's been a disgusting day here in leb, but I will say, that if you preach democracy then a street protest voicing the other side's thoughts should be met with arms wide open... Such a protest should be invested on as being the right way of voicing your opinion, not by blowing one’s self up.. I think that when these people took to the streets they did not do so as ingratitude to Bush, but they protested and chanted with the images of all the innocent dead Iraqis and Afghanistan in mind... Yes it costs A LOT to move from a tyranny to a democracy, but right now, all we see are countless bodies scattered all over the country, Sunnis & Shiites, Arabs & Kurds...

I know you think that media such as CNN and others are liberal oriented and bad, but you have no idea what we see on our TVs.. I agree with Rumsfeld that al-Jazeera are over doing it, but al-Jazeera and even more moderate Arab channels start their news with images of dead children and women who have died in Iraq... To be frank, I don't think anyone cares about Afghanistan, cause it's far from the Arab world and it's not even Arab, but when an Arab has an Iraqi neighbor and then sees the images of all the bloodshed that, we all admit, were the result of the poor planning of the post invasion Iraq, they get aggravated and enraged... And yes, you need someone to blame and this person is Bush and his orchestra of Condi, Rumsfeld, and Cheney.. (What do you know, I AM writing a lot)...

For decades, and here we reach our point of perpetual arguing, Arabs and Muslims have been seeing their brother and sister Arabs and Muslims being slaughtered in Palestine, Egypt, Lebanon, Syria and Jordan by Israel, (the US's best friend) and now are seeing more being killed in Iraq and Afghanistan... It is NOT the fault of Islam, for it is a great religion, but it is the fault of Islamic preachers who either advocate revenge or are silent and NOT preaching that Islam is a religion of peace and coexistence not a religion of war... And I think that we're all just stuck in a mess now, and instead of finding a solution, the easier thing to do would be to point fingers, which is what is happening... We need to stop for a second, ALL OF US, Americans from both sides, Europeans and Arabs and Muslims to stop the interference of Syrians and Iranians in Iraqi affairs for THAT is the key to solving the problems of Iraq... I disagree that it's the Iraqis' fault; it's Syria and Iran's... When Iraq was invaded, there was some resistance from Baathists against Americans, but if you look at things now, a few Americans die each month (may their souls rest in peace) while hundreds, even thousands of Iraqis are dying either from foreign terrorists or by Iraqis advocated against each other... This kind of hatred and suicidal mentality did not exist at the early days of the war, but only emerged after the Syrian and Iranian weeds grew enough to start making a mess inside Iraq, and LORD knows how these weeds are to be plucked... Let's not hope Lebanon will be a bargaining chip and be sold to Syria like what happened in the early nineties, when Bush Sr. sold Lebanon to the Syrians in return for Syria's agreement that its territory be used as grounds for American troops to launch their attacks on Iraq... (MAJOR run along sentence)...

Jeez Rock, do you think we keep saying the same things over and over? I sure hope that our world progresses to a more peaceful and prosperous state where bloggers like you and me and blog about boring things they watched on TV or stupid things that happened to them at work...

Take care, and sorry for blabbering too much! :D

Do you know what the strangest thing and phenomenon to me about the followers of Bush? Is you all seem to think this man is so righteous moral and honest. And every thing he says is the truth. and i ask why is that?
you have assigned him this character not on his merit but by your own desire to see him as good. Your arguments are based on your "belief" you assigned him. wile at the same time you ignore anything that would show anything contrary to your chosen "opinion" of him. You suspend disbelief. you chose to only except a one demential picture of this man called bush as well as the rest of his ilk because it fits your ideology.
And you CHOSE to ignore any evidence that would counter that. NO! you do not describe a moral man based on evidence. but based on your agenda to believe and to worship and have a person to follow. you believe he represents your ideas of good and evil. not based on actual things but on your need for a hero to your cause. And because you see your cause as moral that justifies it all. Chosen ignorance is not the way to truth. Why are so many people afraid of the actual truth and use that word to describe an opinion and belief?

You on the left who demonize Bush base it always on what goes on behind closed doors, on conspiracy theories, and on what you assume are his motives.

We, the rational people of the world (there aren't many of us at times), base what we believe on Bush's actions and words. These are things we see. I don't need Bush to be my hero. He is not my hero. My hero would be more conservative and more courageous in standing up for it. He is my hero on Iraq because he tried to help a country that was in trouble.

Again, you on the left ascribe motives. You assume the war was for evil purposes. You are the ones who have the need to have the world conform to your beliefs. And it is obvious what your beliefs are; the usual liberal mantras--the U.S. is bad, capitalism is bad, the Iraq war was waged for oil, Bush is bad--all of this without a shred of evidence. Look in the mirror for your "chosen ignorance." You are so far from the truth you wouldn't know it if it bit you. You are a stranger to logic too.

That's good Phil. As a decent person I'm sure you'll join with me in condeming all deliberate bombing of innocent civilians. I'm sure you'll support overthrowing tyrants and helping to make people free. Thanks.

Tyk, even though we disagree a bit, you do sound very rational. Plus, you help me understand your perspective. You do bring added insight into the picture of your country. I know that your country is going through a lot right now, so please accept my concern for all of you.

I agree with some of what you say, and I do believe that the idea of revenge is not productive, just like the Italian concept of vendetta. It just seems to be endless.

I kind of put Lebanon in a different category from other Arab countries in the sense that I know it has had great heights, and can return to these if there is peace there.

We perhaps will always disagree about Israel, but there may be some other things we do agree on. For example, I agree with many in thinking that our relationship with Saudia Arabia is basically wrong. We keep a kingdom in power in exchange for oil, even though that kingdom preaches hatred against us, and even though that country is far from the democracy we value.

Hearing from you does make me think. You don't just spout mantras you've heard on some liberal site. I know you are thinking these things through, so I salute you.

I am definitely on your side when it comes to wanting peace. I want peace and freedom for everyone who wants it and deserves it. This includes you and your country. I still don't know if Iraq deserves it--they don't seem willing to stand up to tyrants. Oh well, now I'm going on and on. It's easy to do.

Have a good day Tyk and God bless.

What we did after WWII was the Marshall Plan, spending millions of dollars to rebuild Europe. I am not opposed to such a plan for Afghanistan and Iraq, but first, political stability must be established. Otherwise, the money goes down a rathole.

To establish political stability requires either a massive U.S. increase in troops, or, and this is preferable, the Afghani's and Iraqi's being willing to die in standing up to their warlords and tyrants. If they are ever going to do this, now is the time, while the Americans are there and can support them in this.

The U.S. received much needed support from the French in our Revolutionary War, but it is we who had to stand up and die. The French couldn't do it for us. If the Afghan's and Iraqi's don't want peace and freedom, if they will accept being ruled by more Saddams and warlords, then they get what they deserve. Which is too bad for them, and for the world.

charles, I see I have gone beyond my own rule of not engaging in personal attacks, and so I apologize. I will try to keep my comments strictly to the issues and the arguments. I do reserve the right, especially in a blog that purports to seek the truth, of saying bluntly what I think, and to expose fallacies in logic or opinion. But I'll try to keep my comments to these, and not to the person espousing them.

Plus, I invite you or any other liberal blogger, who sees things differently than I, to write a guest blog on a subject, or even to become a regular guest-blogger, with the proviso that your posts be on something you are passionate about, and you observe a modicum of propriety in them.

The invitation is open, and thanks for your comments. I know they are heartfelt.

P.S. I also welcome posts from a conservative guest blogger.

eyechan, though I cannot publish your comment, I will respond a bit. I don't understand most of your logic, but I do want to reassure you that I seek the truth. Part of the truth resides in me, though. This is the part I see so clearly that it drives me to communicate it. I am open to how you, or anyone else, sees truth, but I do put the stipulation on it that it must be logical, reasonable, and have some connection with reality. For example, it would be your right to say that America is ruled by little green men, or racist Republicans, but I'd like some evidence for these kinds of far-out beliefs. You have a right to believe them, but I have a right to respond, equally as vigorously, and to point out their ridiculousness.

You might not like this. People who tell the truth are not diplomats for a reason. The truth sometimes hurts.

You are a liberal, and at this time in history, your side are, in my opinion, the bad guys. Me saying this will necessarily hurt. I'm sorry. All I can ask of you is to re-examine your value system and put a check on your party. Or, prove me wrong. Or, resort to classic liberalism, which I respect.

If I'm wrong about something, I'll admit it--something I don't see coming from anyone on the left.

Anyway, rant over. Thanks for your participation in my blog.
