I'm Looking for a Few Good Men and Women

Every once in awhile I’m going to do this. Traffic has grown quite a bit on this blog, and I am appreciative of people like Paz, the path on the left and Articman, Arcticman Speaks!, on the right who make the blog a true search for truth. Paz is so very passionate, and bright, and expresses what other liberals cannot.

Most liberals, forgive me Paz, just call names. They have no plans, no ideas, just Bush- and Republican-bashing. Paz, you are different. Thanks for your input. Articman has his own firm outlook that I respect. I sometimes agree with Paz, and sometimes with Articman, mostly with Articman. But Paz will make points that are worth considering and deserve to be in the national debate. His points must be considered and dealt with. Otherwise, we are fooling ourselves.

Other recent contributors I appreciate are: Tom, Tomsbloggerspot, the wonderful Mary, Mary’s World, Empress Bee (of the high sea),
muffin53, Lexa Roséan, a leftist writer and occult practitioner, the witch doctor is in, plus others listed below.

One thing that I really like lately is that I’ve had some Muslim readers, like Tarek El Khatib, rambling and blabbering, and some Vietnam vets like Charlie, and a soldier stationed in Afghanistan, Sgt Dub. I’d like more Muslim readers to contribute. Plus, I value any active soldier’s input. We owe you a debt of gratitude, and you can contribute greatly to the political dialogue from your unique perspective. And, of course, I pay tribute to my high-schooler, LAEvanesce, who it seems will have some kind of a bright future in the arts or literature, or something political perhaps. Anyway, a welcome, rational, “mostly liberal,” point of view.

As I said at the top of the article, I’m looking for a few good men and women.

A Partner and Guest Bloggers

I really am aiming for two things, a partner, and guest bloggers. I want someone on the left who has the time, dedication, intelligence, and drive to post from time to time, or even daily, explaining the left’s position on issues we discuss. I’ll be patient. One day I’ll find this person, perhaps as traffic grows even more. Ultimately, I want a left-right exploration of the key issues.

In the meantime, I want guest bloggers. People on the left and on the right. Just write a post, well thought out, on something political you’re passionate about—or expand a comment into a post. I’ll review it, correct the grammar and spelling if need be, leave it uncensored and post it. I’ll comment on it, but I won’t change it. You have a right to your opinion.

My Approach versus O'Reilly and FOX

I want to explain the difference between my approach and that of Bill O’Reilly, or even of FOX News. He and FOX say they are fair and balanced. I’m not out to be fair and balanced. I seek the truth. I want to hear from the left, not to be fair and balanced, but to arrive with them at the truth.

The truth at this time in history, I believe, lies mostly with the right. The left is rampant now with demagoguery. They are taking advantage of minorities and slogans and ignorance and just plain bashing everything good and decent in the world. They glorify demons and vilify saints. Yet, we all cannot arrive at the truth unless we engage and challenge.

We can’t force the left to be rational or reasonable. We can’t force them to see things as they really are. They must arrive at truth in their own way. Liberal philosophy is a legitimate option to believe in. The problem is that liberalism can easily slip into socialism, communism, or a love of tyrants. This is where their adherents are now. Bush is the tyrant, and Castro is the model to emulate.

So, I don’t want to be fair and balanced. I’m not out to promote liberal propaganda. There is no moral equivalence between the left and the right at this time, nor between Israeli’s and the Palestinians, nor between America and the terrorists. There is a right and a wrong, and we, the Americans are right. The Israelis are right. The Right is right. The Left is wrong.

So, I want to engage, not to be fair and balanced, but to have a legitimate debate, a vigorous confrontation. Despite the left being wrong on just about everything, they do make good points, and these points have to be considered. Plus, one day it will be the time for liberalism to take over. Then, they will be right, and we will be wrong. It’s all about being honest, not sticking with a point of view because it supports our side—but sticking to it if it is real and right and good.

There is a Time

There is a time. A time for war and a time for peace. A time for everything under the heavens. This is the time for war and, coincidentally, a time for conservatives. We are the ones that can save the world, literally. We must convince the majority of the world to see this. Yet we must remain humble. When the liberals make points that reflect reality, we must listen. And then, when it is the time for liberals to take over, we must see that too. Then it will be our time to make points that they should listen to.

I'm Looking for a Few Good Men and Women

I’m looking for a few good men and women who can see and tell the truth. I’m looking for Muslims, soldiers, vets, high school and college kids, Baby Boomers, Europeans, Asians, Hispanics, you name it. Speak out respectfully and you’ll be heard.

Rock

Rock, On occasion I hit upon a "soap box" that inspires me to ramble on for a bit. I always try to approach everything with common sense, If I have one of those moments and with your approval, I will submit it for a guest blogging. Very few invite others opinions in fear of being ridiculed. You stand firm and this is what makes our country better. This is what we are trying to accomplish in both Iraq and Afghanistan.

I appreciate your thoughts and honesty. Truth should be the goal of meaningful discourse and statesmenship. I ran for a position in our local school board because I was so tired of the nonsense and agendas. After wondering why somebody doesn't do something I came to the conclusion that too many were asking the same question.

Good debate is a lost art and needs a come back no more than ever. Not sure what kind of revolution it will take to inspire good governmental leaders. I believe the machine is to big to be effective and mostly serves to sustain its own existance rather than the basic needs to keep a country intact.

I just found you yesterday and look forward to many good reads.

I would be honored, as would my readers. Don't worry about being perfect with this--I've read your blog and it has great stuff. Just be clear and straightforward.

Once again I am honored. Thanks. And thanks for what you're doing over there. God bless you. Looking forward to your post(s).

Thanks, Tom, I appreciate the kind words. I agree wholeheartedly. You ran, but it sounds like you didn't win? Good for you for trying, though. I'd run tomorrow if I didn't have such an inglorious past. Oh well, God gives us each different roles to play. This blog is my role for now. And I appreciate people like you joining in the effort to get the truth out.

I just found you yesterday and look forward to many good reads.

Thanks. I look forward to hearing from you. Don't forget to write a post if you have something important to say for my audience. You're certainly welcome.

Wow Rock, you have honored an old soldier with the invite to be a guest-blogger. I will not disappoint (I hope), oh by the way Emperess Bee, muffin 53, linked Sgt Dub today. If you are reading this Sarge take one from the old Sarge, we love you guys and are willing to do anything we can to make your life better. Bee and I have both sent packages to anysoldier.com, I would be happy to send one direct to you.

Hey Rock
thanks for this mention and I enjoyed your comment on my blog. You said I left you an intruiging message a while back - I think what I said was that Everything you wrote made sense to me, even tho my liberal upbringing dictated that it shouldn't! At any rate, I enjoy your POV and even if I don't always agree - I feel I can learn a thing or two on your blogs.
Blessings,
Lex

That's one of the nicest compliments I've ever received. Thanks so much. Blessings back at you, and much love.

By the way, folks, you've got to go to Lexa's blog. It's great. You won't get this kind of rec from many conservatives, but I'm telling you, open your hearts and your minds.

The Witch Doctor is In

Take care Lex.

I'm really feeling good about these recent posts. They make me believe in humanity again. Thank you Charlie, and Sgt Dub, for uplifting an old leftist hippie turned mostly conservative, student of military history but not having served, sympathizer of our armed forces and the sacrifices they have made for the rest of us.

God bless you from all America.

Ever grateful Rock
for putting me front and center! (by mistake I posted my comment on your Archives.) As for your readers, their tastes and proclivities may surprise you. Some of the biggest conservatives (eg: Namcy Reagan was a huge believer in astrology) have shown great interest in the occult. Also, many of our soldiers are Wiccan Warriors! Goddess bless and protect them!
thanks again and blessings

ps - (in reference to a link to my blog being underneath yours on Billy's sidebar) well, if I won Bestest Blog it sure is good news to me - but haven't heard any tell of that yet... I think you must be looking at all the PREMIUM blogs listed together. :+)

Thanks Rock,
I look forward to reading your posts and I think you're a straight-up person. I'm in a bit of a funk right now waiting for this election to get over with. I get a little discouraged watching all the attention being given to people like Hillary and John. It distracts us from the real dangers facing our country.

I'm pleased to see that you are inviting Muslim readers to contribute. I wouldn't get my hopes up expecting any new thoughts from them. It's crystal clear what the agenda is in the Muslim world. The last time Islam made a push for world domination it didn't work, but this time they may have the bomb. I used to be a live and let live kind of person. Now....... that's changed.

I've never been against any religion or cult. It's a basic right to believe or not. I've conversed happily with Pagans,Athiests, Witches, LDS, Catholics, Jews, Jehovas, and everything else.....except Muslims. Until I read Hal Lindsey, I knew nothing about Muslims, except that they hate and live to kill the Jew.

Some instruction on biblical history by Mr. Lindsey, an expert on the history of the middle east, taught me the why. It also revealed that the hatred and Jihad will last forever. It will never end. There can be no peace. On that, every Muslim and I can agree.

So I'll look forward to reading you. I'll disregard and resist any attempts to have Islam shoved down my throat, however, because I've already been saved. I't doesn't make me perfect. It just eliminates the possibility.

Besides, there has never been a time in my life that I've ever been jaded, blinded, ignorant or stupid enough to accept the inhumane and stanic teachings of that death cult.

It would be nice to have something different to ponder. I fear those days are gone.

Thanks for the mention, Rock. I am honored that you would notice me. You have one of a few "politically correct" blogs out there. You speak the truth, whether it makes friends or enemies. Keep up the good work. I couldn't possibly have anything to add as a guest blogger. You seem to cover it all nicely!!

You're more than welcome. I do love your site.

You have one of a few "politically correct" blogs out there. You speak the truth, whether it makes friends or enemies. Keep up the good work.

Thanks, I know you meant "politically incorrect." I don't edit my comments either. We're all human, right? I am honored by your sentiments.

I couldn't possibly have anything to add as a guest blogger. You seem to cover it all nicely!!

Once again, thank you. Although don't be surprised, blogging is made for true expression, and your thoughts are valuable to this world of ours. Anyway, take care and I hope you'll comment often, as I will revisit your blog often.

Thanks Arcticman, right back at you.

I'm in a bit of a funk right now waiting for this election to get over with. I get a little discouraged watching all the attention being given to people like Hillary and John. It distracts us from the real dangers facing our country.

Me too, but we are in the election cycle when voters throw the party in power out. I agree we face real dangers and are distracted.

Me too. I have no idea what we face with the nukes floating around. We need to root them out somehow, but how?

Besides, there has never been a time in my life that I've ever been jaded, blinded, ignorant or stupid enough to accept the inhumane and stanic teachings of that death cult.

I keep hoping for a Reformation, but it won't come unless the world rejects them, shuns them, and defeats them in battle. The Church had its Reformations, and now is a pretty good force, overall. Islam could do the same, but not without pressure.

Otherwise, I agree with you. I've seen video of children holding rifles singing "Death to America! Death to Jews!"

It's a holdout from the 16th century, a true barbarism, and it must be defeated.

The upcoming elections will change the country, one way or another. Don't be too discouraged, humans have had the age of the barbarians before and we came out of that. We'll come out of it again, but hopefully in our lifetime.

Thanks for your comments, Articman.
